7 Maintenance | 7.3 Maintenance of the safety hose for the bunsen burner

CAUTION
Safety instructions for the operation of a Bunsen burner:

As a rule, Bunsen burners do not have a "closed" setting, this means that
gas flows through the pilot flame nozzle as soon as the gas supply is
opened.
▶
The Bunsen burner may only be operated under constant supervision.
▶
After use, the gas supply must be cut off immediately, either by closing the
gas connection valve or by disconnecting the safety gas valve.
▶
In training rooms, gas systems may only be started up after switching on
the upstream isolating equipment.
▶
Do not position the Bunsen burner flame beneath workplace components
such as workplace lamps, shelves etc.
▶
Ensure that the Bunsen burner is standing securely.
▶
If you notice the odour of escaping gas, close the gas shut-off valve imme-
diately and take the necessary safety precautions.
▶
It is essential to adhere to accident prevention regulations.
