4.3. Sweeping

Hatches in the stone area of the heater are soot hatches (covered with a lid).
Inner parts of the heater are cleaned through the holes covered with a lid 2 to 6 times a year
according to use.
If the heater has a flue leaving from the top of the heater, soot can drop on the heater from the
flue, and must be removed through the soot hatch at the back of the space intended for stones.
At the bottom part of the space provided for stones, in the side channels there are also soot
hatches for cleaning.
Soot hatches open when they are lifted upward.

4.4. Removal and cleaning of the stove's glass

The glass door must be treated with care. Do not slam it shut or uses it to push logs into the

stove. The glass doors are cleaned with Kastor’s Noki Pois cleaning fluid.

Attach the door to the stove.

5. Troubleshooting

If the stove or the sauna fails to work as you think they should, go through the following check

list.

First, to make sure you have chosen the correct stove for your sauna’s requirements, look

through the stove choosing instructions on our internet pages at www.kastor.fi -> “wood

Is the chimney’s size correct?

At least a half brick wide or, depending on stove model, a round chimney of 100 or 120 mm.

The stove stones do not heat up sufficiently.

Has the stove been fired sufficiently?
