WATERCLEAN 1600
- 54 -
WARNING
Do not adjust knob (38/1) and (38/4). These are fac-
tory-set.
NOTE
Standard setting (target concentration: 0.3 ppm
chlorine-free):
• Displacement: 100%
• Ratio (frequency): 1:1
The operating mode must be set to "External" in
order to have the amount-proportional addition of
chlorine switched on.
NOTE
When a different chlorine concentration is required
in the drinking water, then either more or less chlo-
rinated lime must be dissolved in the run-down
tank

The content is sufficient for approx. 24 operating hours.
Metered Addition of Reminer-
alising Chemicals
The Reverse Osmosis process extracts the minerals from the water
during treatment. If this water is the sole drinking water source for a
longer period of time, Kärcher recommends an addition of remineral-
ising chemicals in order to avoid resulting deficiency symptoms
amongst the persons involved.
The addition is to be carried out only after consulting Kärcher.
For remineralisation, calcium chloride is additionally dissolved in the
chlorine solution. The addition depends on the composition of the
conditioned water and the required objective. It must be set higher
than the dissolution of the appropriate amount of calcium chloride in
the chlorine solution. As already described, two dosage stations are
available for the metered addition of chemicals.
Example for Remineralisation
of Treated Surface Water
With the indicated addition, the conductivity capacity of the condi-
tioned water increases by approx. 100 µS/cm. For other settings the
addition must be increased or decreased accordingly.
Per 1 liter of drinking water of the run-down tank content, 225 g of cal-
cium chloride are added and dissolved.
