For many cleaning tasks, a stationary high-pressure
cleaner can be used. The following advantages mili-
tate for that:
Cost-effectiveness
High-pressure water with or without the addition of a
detergent is always available at all extraction points
at the push of a button. Labour-intensive set-up times
and non-productive times do not apply, e.g. pulling of
the hoses, or filling of the small mobile detergent or
fuel tanks. The transport of a mobile device to the
places of work is no longer required.
Safety
Independent of the cleaning task the device can be
set up at a suitable place. There, it will not be ex-
posed to ambient conditions, such as dirt, moisture,
vapour. The operator can access the appliance func-
tions via remote control only. This will prevent im-
proper use and incorrect adjustments. Time-out and
leakage protection protect the appliance and the op-
erator against occurring risks and prevent dangerous
situations. Water damage caused by a pipe rupture in
the high-pressure network is prevented by an auto-
matic pipe rupture safety device.
Access points
Several extraction points can be supplied by the high-
pressure unit via a high-pressure pipe. The extraction
point can be individually designed by means of a va-
riety of accessories. Thus, various functions can be
directly set at the place of work.
Automatic switch-on
The high-pressure supply units are activated directly
on the appliance. After taking it into service, the high-
pressure pump starts automatically everytime water
is taken.
Performance
The supply units are designed to supply several ac-
cess points simultaneously. The three high-pressure
lines can be differentiated by their regulation of the
partial load operation:
With the compact systems of the
HDC Classic
,
the water volume that has not been removed cir-
culates without pressure via an overflow valve.
With the systems of the
HDC Standard
series, the
water volume that has not been removed is guided
back to the swimmer container via an overflow
valve.
With the
HDC Advanced
systems a frequency
converter controls the water volume at a pump de-
pending on the consumption volume.
The extracted water volume is monitored by means
of pressure measurement in the supply unit.
Automatic switch-off
If not enough water is removed and the minimum
amount is not met, the system is switched off. The re-
start automatically takes place during operation. An
adjustable trail time prevents the cycle time with short
water extraction.
Multiple pump units
For compact units with two to four pumps the slave
pumps are activated with a time delay correspondent
to the extracted water volume.
Changing the sequence
By changing the sequence of the pump units you will
achieve an even operating time of all pump units. The
pumps can also be operated separately by manually
switching from automatic to manual. This way, an
emergency backup is available in case of malfunc-
tions.
Leakage detection
Short pump start-ups, as they happen during leaks in
the pipe network, will cause a safety interrupt. Leak-
ages as large as one gun load will also lead to a safe-
ty shut-downs.
Water temperature
The high-pressure supply units HDC are designed for
water temperatures of up to 60° C. The configuration
with prepressure pumps is optional. Here, supply flow
temperatures of up to 85°C are allowed.
Servo regulation
All HDC systems are laid out for use of the Kärcher
servo regulation.
This enables the user to perform an individual pres-
sure and water volume regulation directly at the hand
spray gun.
Water network separation
All HDC appliances are separated from the water net-
work by a prerun container.
Appliance safety
Pump protection by means of standard water short-
age safety device. The motor and water temperature
is always monitored.
Water hardness
Preferably use soft water, otherwise there will be a li-
mescale build-up at the overflow passage because of
the pressure drop.
