II. Operation
Starting machine
– Set machine switch to “STOP” or “0”. Connect machine plug to power supply.
– Open water tap (pressure mode).
– Squeeze trigger of gun and turn machine switch to “Motor on” or “1”. The
pump first expels the air in the machine. Water will emerge from the
nozzle after a short delay.
Caution:
The force of the water leaving the nozzle causes kickback at the trigger
gun. Hold the gun and lance firmly to counteract this force.
– When you release the gun’s trigger during operation, the relief valve (9) opens and creates a water
circuit. When you pull the trigger again, the relief valve closes and spray pressure is restored.
Servopress infinitely variable flow and pressure control:
The water flow rate and pressure can be regulated steplessly by
squeezing the gun’s trigger to a greater or lesser degree. Once you
have obtained the required strength of jet, you can fix the trigger
position by means of the thumbwheel (A) in the gun. When you
squeeze the trigger again, you automatically obtain the same water jet.
Suction mode
If you wish to use the machine to draw in water from an open tank, use
a water hose with a minimum nominal diameter of 3/4 “ (19 mm) – available from Kärcher under Order
No. 4.440-207. Max. suction head 30 cm.
If difficulties are experience with venting the pump in the suction mode, unscrew the high-pressure
hose (13) at connection (12) so that the pump can vent without backpressure.
Changeover nozzle
This is standard on the HD 1000 SEi EEx. The changeover nozzle has round and flat nozzle inserts.
When the trigger gun is closed, you can change from a flat (fan) jet to a round (pencil) jet or vice
versa by slightly tilting the spray lance. If the changeover does not take place – tap the changeover
nozzle lightly.
Water emerges from the upper nozzle when the gun’s trigger is pulled. The selected
nozzle always remains open as long as the trigger is squeezed, irrespective of the
position of the changeover nozzle.
Stopping machine
1. Turn off the machine at the machine switch by turning the rotary knob to “STOP” or “0”.
2. Turn off the water tap.
3. Pull gun’s trigger until no more water emerges from the nozzle. Then secure the gun against
accidential operation by means of the thumbwheel.
4. After using aggressive cleaning or disinfection agents, flush out the machine with clear water
(without cleaning agent) for at least 30 seconds before switching it off.
