KTES Installation and Configuration in 5 Easy Steps
With the EntraPass software
Install the KTES
a) Unpack the KTES & validate the installation checklist.
b) Apply sealant on the back of the KTES around the mounting holes and the
knockouts (for outdoor installation).
c) Proceed with the physical mounting on the wall.
d) Connect the reader (if applicable).
e) Connect the door locking device (DC or external power source).
f) Connect the inputs (Postal lock, REX…etc).
g) Connect external Access controller (if applicable).
h) Connect the telephone line.
i) Connect the earth ground.
j) Connect the power source & the backup battery.
k) Connect your communication link with the PC (USB-485, IP or Modem)
l) Power up the KTES.
Install the EntraPass Software
a) Install the EntraPass software using the installation serial number (16 digits)
found on the CD-ROM pocket.
b) Once installation completed, restart the computer.
Start the KTES EntraPass software
a) The Setup Wizard will prompt automatically when you log into the system
b) Run the Wizard to configure your KTES units
Note:
To access EntraPass, use
kantech
as user ID and password.
Validate Configuration
a) Validate the communication between EntraPass and the KTES.
b) Validate the programming on the KTES by scrolling in the tenant directory

Call a tenant to ensure the system is working properly.
¾
Ask the tenant to unlock the door using the 9 key.
c) Make a backup of the configuration (refer to chapter
13 EntraPass Options
of
the
EntraPass Reference Manual
for the Special Edition or chapter
15
EntraPass Server
for Global and Corporate Editions).
Inform the Tenants on How to Operate the System
a) Use the
Quick Reference Sheet
at the end of the Programming Manual to
inform the tenant on how to use the system.

How a visitor can: reach a tenant, talking to a visitor, grant access, denying
access and accessing the building using a PIN.
b) Make copies of the
Quick Reference Sheet
and distribute them among the
tenants.
