MR-S ADJUSTMENT
5-1 Adjustment of bottom stripper blade (Fig.1)
For the adjustment of bottom stripper blade “A”,
please follow the picture in the right.
Distance “Y” should be 1 to 3mm, depends on fabric
thickness. Loosen screw “D” and move bracket “C”
up and down.
Distance “X” should be 4 to 5mm, adjust by screw
“B”.
5-2 Adjustment of ruffling arm
Length of ruffling arm is 99.4mm. Adjust the length
by screw “J”. (Fig. 2)
The ruffling arm is attached to the driving shaft “F”,
tighten by screw “I” and “E”.
When the ruffling blade “K” plunge towards the
needle, the tip of the ruffling blade “K” should be
located 1mm over the needle. (Fig. 4)
Adjust by bolt “N” (Figure 5)
◆
Bottom stripper blade “A” and ruffling blade “K”
should not touch. Adjust by loosening screw “H” and
move stopper plate “G”. Move stopper plate “G” to
the right to make the gap larger, and move stopper
plate “G” to the left to make it smaller. (Fig. 2)
Ruffling arm’s length of stroke can be changed by
adjusting the position of the connecting rod from
screw “M”.
When the distance “P” is short, the length of stroke
will be big and when the distance “P” is long, the
length of stroke will be small. (Fig. 3)
Fig. 3 is the length of stroke when the distance “P”
is 35mm.

5-3 Timing of ruffling arm (Fig. 6)
Correct timing is when the ruffling blade reaches nearest
to the needle, the needle start stitching into the fabric.
Open top cover and change the timing pulley position by
loosening screw “A”.
5-4 Change ruffling ratio (Fig. 7)
It is possible to change the ruffling ratio by changing
timing pulley and belt in the accessory box.
Factory setting is ruffling every 2 stitches. (2:1).
Using timing pulley and belt in the accessory box, it can
be changed to ruffling every stitch (1:1).
Refer to the following for the replacement procedure.
1.
Remove screw “A”
2.
Loosen screw on “Z” to remove tension of the belt.
3.
Pull out shaft “E” by loosening screw of “B” and “C”.
4.
Change “C” to “F” and “D” to “G”
5.
Fix shaft “E” by tightening “B”. Make sure there is
no backlash at shaft “E”.
6.
Set “F” at the center of belt “G” and tighten screws of “F”.
7.
Tighten screw “A”
8.
Set “Z” give tension to
the belt “G”
9.
Re-adjust timing of
ruffling
arm
by
referring to previous
chapters.
