Final Checklist
Inspection of the wing is
critical
. Check the top and bottom surfaces and that the lines
are not damaged. Make sure the risers are in good condition. Pre-inflation of the wing is
important to ensure that none of the lines are misplaced or twisted.
Before take-off,
engine on
and
brakes in hand
, final checks:
- Thigh straps attached, properly tightened.
- Chest strap attached.
- Main quick links / carabiners closed and properly closed.
- Front risers in hand, no twisting.
- Brakes in hand. No knots or tangled lines. The lines pass directly through the pulley
system.
- Helmet attached.
- Flight instruments (radio, GPS, altimeter) fixed and secure.
- Radio on, volume tested.
- Batteries recharged, charge level checked.
- Avoid the engine exhaust blowing on the wing before take-off.
Confirm the strength and direction of the wind using the windsock:
- Make sure that the take-off area and the sky are clear of all traffic.
