Care, Cleaning and Storage
Always switch off at the power outlet
and then unplug the appliance from
the power outlet before cleaning.
Cleaning the Kettle Exterior
The outside surface of the kettle may
be wiped over with a damp cloth and
polished with a soft, clean dry cloth.
Cleaning the
Removable Filter
The filter fitted inside the kettle over
the spout is removable for cleaning.
To remove the entire filter bracket for
thorough cleaning, pull the bracket
outwards to unclip from the spout.
Do not use excessive force to remove
the bracket as it could break. To
replace the filter bracket, simply clip
the bracket back in position in the slot
behind the
spout of the kettle, being careful
not to place too much pressure on
the bracket.
For periodic cleaning, it should only
be necessary to remove the filter
itself. To do this, slide the filter upwards
out of the filter bracket and replace
once cleaned by sliding back into
the bracket.
TIP:
The filter could become
damaged with time, please
check regularly and replace if
found damaged.
NOTE:
Ensure the kettle and
water has cooled down before
attempting to clean the filter.
NOTE:
Do not use chemical,
steel wool, or abrasive cleaners
to clean the inside or outside of
the kettle.
CAUTION:
To prevent
damage to the
appliance do not
use alkaline cleaning
agents when cleaning;
use a soft cloth and
mild detergents.
WARNING:
Never
immerse the kettle base,
switch area, power base
or power supply cord in
water or allow moisture
to come in contact with
these parts.
Mineral Deposits and
Discolouration
Due to the large surface area of the
immersed element (interior base),
discolouration due to mineral deposits
from tap water may appear more
obvious by leaving a brown stain on
the base. THIS IS NOT RUST.
To remove the discolouration,
follow the instructions “Removing
Mineral Deposits”.
Removing Mineral Deposits
Mineral deposits in tap water may
cause the kettle interior and water
window to discolour over time.
This may be removed by using a
proprietary kettle descaler which
is available from most leading
supermarkets, department stores
and hardware stores.
Alternatively:
1. Fill the kettle until
2
⁄
3
full with 1 part
vinegar (or a few slices of lemon)
and 2 parts water, bring to the boil
and allow to stand overnight.
2. Empty the solution from the kettle.
Fill the kettle with clean water,
bring to boil and discard the water.
Repeat and the kettle will be ready
for use.
Storage
Ensure the kettle is switched off,
cleaned and dried before storing.
Ensure that the lid is closed and
locked firmly into place. Wrap the
power cord around the cord storage
under the power base. Stand the
kettle upright on the power base.
Do not store anything on top.
