Connection and operation
The unit may arrive with the internal battery partially charged. Before connection to the mains, switch the unit On and see if the
Power LED indicator
lights up. If it doesn’t you will need to charge the battery before you can use the unit without it being attached
to the mains (see
How to charge the battery
below). Always use an appropriate IEC mains lead (supplied).
How to charge the battery
If the unit is connected to the mains but not in use and the power switch is in the Off position, the internal battery will be re-charged
from the mains supply. The red
Battery charging indicator LED
will be lit when charging.
Before operation ensure that the volume controls, the echo control and the mic volume controls are all turned fully anti-clockwise.
The unit is now ready to use.
VHF wireless system
Insert the batteries into the handheld microphones (ensure that the terminals of the batteries match to the mics to observe the
correct polarity). With the
Wireless mic volume controls
turned down, press the
VHF wireless system on/off power button
so
that is in the On position. The wireless system LED indicator should light up. Switch on each wireless mic in turn – the RF LEDs
should light as a result (if the LED on the transmitter lights dimly, change the battery).
Gently increase the wireless mic volume controls, testing each microphone in turn for output through the speaker. Take care not to
incur “feedback” (a screeching sound that is heard through the speaker) by keeping the microphone at a sensible distance from the
speaker and pointing it away from the speaker. To add some echo to the mics, adjust the echo control. To add or subtract bass and
treble from the sound, use the Bass and Treble EQ adjustment controls.
If you are not using the microphones, switch the mics off and turn the unit’s VHF wireless power to the off postion to save battery life.
External audio inputs
The unit come supplied with external inputs as well as the built-in wireless. 6.3mm jack inputs are provided to connect external wired
or wireless microphones, which are both controlled using the
Microphone volume controls.
Stereo RCA phono line inputs are also included on the unit. These can be used to attach line input audio sources such as CD
players or MP3 players (e.g. iPods or smart phones).
External audio output
Stereo RCA phono line outputs are also included on the unit and these will supply an overall mixed output.
Digital media player
The units come with a built-in digital media player. These are straight forward media players that will play from units attached to
either of the built-in USB or SD card sockets.
The media player control buttons work as follows:
Mode button: selects the mode of the media player. See above for Bluetooth connection.
Play / Pause button: plays and pauses any media being played
Loop / Cycle button: repeats the currently played track
Rewind button: plays previous track
Forward button: plays next track
