SRX550 Services Gateway General Safety Guidelines and Warnings
Powering On the SRX550 Services Gateway
To power on the services gateway:
1. Ensure that you have connected the power supply to the device.
2. Insert the plug of the power supply adapter into an AC or DC power source receptacle.
a. Using AC Power supply—Insert the appliance coupler end of the power cord into the appliance inlet
on the power supply and the power cord plug into an external AC power source receptacle.
b. Using DC power supply—Connect DC power cables to the A+ and A- terminals and the other ends
to an external DC power source. If you have two DC power sources and wish to deploy A/B feed
redundancy for the services gateway, also connect DC power cables to the B+ and B- terminals and
the other ends to an external DC power source.
CAUTION:
You must ensure that power connections maintain the proper
polarity. The power source cables might be labeled (+) and (–) to indicate their
polarity. There is no standard color coding for DC power cables. The color coding
used by the external DC power source at your site determines the color coding
for the leads on the power cables that attach to the terminals on the power
supply.
3. Turn on the power to the AC or DC power receptacle.
The device starts automatically as the power supply completes its startup sequence. The POWER LED (on
the front panel of the chassis) lights during startup and remains on steadily when the services gateway is
operating normally.
