Changing Network and System Settings for a Junos Space Appliance
You can use the Junos Space CLI to change the network and system settings for a Junos
Space Appliance configured as a Junos Space node or a fault monitoring and performance
monitoring (FMPM) node. You can perform the following tasks using the Junos Space
CLI:
• Change the default user (admin) password.
• Change network settings such as DNS, virtual IP (VIP) address, and so on.
•
Change the time zone and NTP time server.
•
Retrieve and transfer system log files.
• Change SSH and firewall settings.
• Run shell commands.
NOTE: An openNMS user does not have permission to modify the Junos
Space Settings.
Before you begin:
• Ensure that you have connected a management device (PC or laptop) to the appliance
using the management console, and that both the appliance and the management
device are powered on. Alternatively, you can connect to the appliance via telnet or
SSH if the appliance is accessible via the network.
• Ensure that you have logged in to the appliance using the administrator username
(admin) and password.
When you log in to the appliance, the Junos Space Settings Menu appears as follows:
Junos Space Settings Menu
1> Change Password
2> Change Network Settings
3> Change Time Options
4> Retrieve Logs
5> Security
6> (Debug) run shell
A> Apply changes
Q> Quit
R> Redraw Menu
