Line Cards
The EX9253 switch has two horizontal line card slots. The line cards for EX9253 switches combine a
Packet Forwarding Engine and Ethernet interfaces in a single assembly. Line cards are field-replaceable
units (FRUs) that you can install in the line card slots labeled MPC0 and MPC1 on the front panel of the
switch chassis.

Cooling System
The cooling system consists of four hot-removable and hot-insertable fan trays and an air filter and
provides front-to-back chassis cooling (see
"EX9253 Cooling System" on page 21
).
Power Supplies
Power supplies for the EX9253 switch are fully redundant, load-sharing, and hot-removable and hot-
insertable FRUs. Each EX9253 switch chassis can hold up to six AC or DC power supplies. The power
