Avoid accidental starting. Make sure the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the
cord and/or the battery or lifting/carrying the tool.
Carrying a power tool with your finger on the switch or connecting a tool to the mains supply when
the switch is in the ON position increases the risk of accidents and injuries.
Remove adjuster keys/spanners and other assembling tools before starting the power tool.
Spanners, keys or similar that are left in a rotating part of the power tool can cause personal injury.
Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This will ensure you have
better control over the tool in unexpected situations.
Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in
moving parts.
If dust extraction and dust collection equipment is provided, this should be connected and used
correctly. The use of such devices can reduce the risk of dust related hazards.
Power tool use and care
Do not force the power tool. Always use the correct power tool for the job. The tool does the job
better and safer when used at the rate for which it was designed.
Do not use the tool if it cannot be switched on and off using the power switch. Power tools that
cannot be controlled with the power switch are dangerous and must be repaired.
Always disconnect the power cord from the mains power before making any adjustments, changing
accessories or putting the power tool away. These safety precautions reduce the risk of accidently
starting the power tool.
Keep power tools out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children, or anyone who
is unfamiliar with the power tool and these instructions, to use the tool. Power tools are dangerous
if used by inexperienced people.
Keep the power tool properly maintained. Make sure that moving parts are properly adjusted and
do not jam and that no parts are incorrectly fitted or damaged. Check for other factors that could
affect the operation of the power tool. If the power tool is damaged, it must be repaired before
being used again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to jam and are easier to control.
Use power tools, accessories, bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account
actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools
for purposes other than those intended.
Service
Power tools may only be serviced by qualified service personnel using identical spare parts. This ensures
that the power tool remains safe.
Special safety instructions
Read all the instructions before use, to minimise the risk of personal injury.
Check before use that the power cord and plug are intact. A damaged power cord or plug must be
replaced by an authorised service centre or qualified contractor. Make sure the power switch is in
the OFF position before plugging in the cord.
For safety reasons, always use the side handle.
Secure the workpiece with clamps, clips or a vice.
Be prepared for the reaction force when the tool starts, especially if the drill bit jams.
Always disconnect the power cord from the mains power before working on the tool.
Always disconnect the power cord from the mains power before carrying out maintenance or
replacing bits.
Sharp drill bits give optimum performance and minimise tool wear.
Do not overload the drill bit so much that it stops rotating.
The drilling machine’s direction of rotation cannot be reversed. Only use original accessories.
The mains voltage must correspond with the data on the tool’s type plate.
