Identifying the parts of your Judge Non-Stick Griddle

Before First Use

• 

Manufacturing taint - the Griddle needs to be 
operated once to Level 5 before use.

• 

Plug-in the Thermostat  4  to the Thermostat 
socket  3  and set the heating level dial  6  to 
maximum - position 5.

• 

Plug the Power Cord  7  into the mains socket, 
switch on the socket.

• 

Leave for 10 minutes, it is normal for smoke 
and smells to be emitted during this operation - 
manufacturing residues are being removed.

• 

Follow the cleaning instructions

How to Use

1.  Plug-in the Thermostat  4  to the Thermostat 

socket  3  and set the dial to the OFF position.

2. 

Plug the Power Cord  7  into the mains socket, 
switch on the socket.

3. 

Choose the Heating Level required and set this 
on the Dial  6  - the Heating Confirmation light 

5  will turn on.

4. 

Once this temperature has been reached, 

heating will stop and the Heating Confirmation 

Light  5  will turn off. Then the unit will maintain 

the temperature set by heating automatically as 

necessary.

• 

Very little oil/fat is necessary during cooking. It 

is better to marinate food previously, or coat the 

food with herbs, spices, oil, butter etc. Residual 

oils and fats may be collected in the channel at 

the front of the Cooking Plate  1  and drained 

into the Drip Tray  8  which is located under the 

Cooking Plate  1 .

• 

Use only wooden or nylon tools, and do not cut 

food with a knife or any other sharp implement 

on the Non Stick cooking surface to avoid 

damage. 

• 

The Detachable Thermostat  4  can be removed 

before serving the dish at the table: if the dish 

is actually cooked on the table ensure that the 

Safety Advice - given previously - is followed and 

understood by those around the table.

CAUTION: THE GRIDDLE BECOMES HOT IN USE 

- HOTTER THAN NORMAL SERVING DISHES.  USE 

OVEN GLOVES AND USE THE HANDLES  2 .

Cautions

• 

Ensure the Griddle Voltage and Power 
details match your home Supply.

• 

Do not plug-in to the socket, or operate 
with wet hands - or allow the Power 
Cord and Plug  7  to get wet.

• 

Do not operate the Griddle if the 
Power Cord  7  has become damaged 
- contact Judge Customer Services at 
the address given under the Warranty 
details.

• 

Do not let the Power Cord  7  trail 
within the reach of children, or where it 
can be accidentally snagged.

• 

Ensure the Power Cord  7  is not 
allowed to touch the hot surface of the 
Griddle, or any other heated object.

• 

This appliance can be used by children 
aged from 8 years and above and 
persons with reduced physical, sensory 
or mental capabilities or lack of 
experience and knowledge if they have 
been given supervision or instruction 
concerning use of the appliance in a 
safe way and understand the hazards 
involved.

• 

Children shall not play with the 
appliance.

• 

Cleaning and user maintenance shall 
not be made by children unless they are 
older than 8 and supervised.

• 

Never leave a Griddle unattended when 
it is heating.

• 

Protect precious surfaces with a heat 
resistant pad.

• 

Keep the Griddle well clear of soft 
furnishings or any other combustible 
material, or items that may be 
damaged by heat.

• 

Always disconnect the Griddle from the 
Mains supply when not in use.

Cleaning 

• 

Switch unit OFF at the socket, 

remove plug  7  from the 

socket and allow the Griddle 

to cool thoroughly before 

handling.

• 

When the unit is cool remove 

the Detachable Thermostat  4  

from the Thermostat Socket  3  

before cleaning.

• 

The Griddle must be unplugged and 
allowed to cool before cleaning.

• 

Never immerse the Griddle or 
Thermostat  4  in water.

• 

Do not use this Griddle if it is 
malfunctioning: contact Judge 
Customer Services at the address given 
under the Warranty details.

• 

The Griddle will become hot during 
and after operation. Take care to keep 
hands away from hot surfaces and use 
the Handles  2  to move the unit when 
hot.

• 

Do not use the Griddle for any other 
purpose than the use stated.

• 

Do not use the appliance in damp or 
wet conditions.

• 

Provide adequate air space (min 15cm) 
above and on all sides for air circulation

• 

The Griddle is intended for Domestic 
Use only.

• 

Do not attempt to repair this unit 
yourself - contact Judge Customer 
Services at the address given under the 
Warranty details.

• 

The Cooking Plate  1  can be 

removed for cleaning by lifting 

away from the base using 

the Handles  2  on either side 

of the Griddle (this is only 

possible when the Detachable 

Thermostat  4  is removed).

The Drip Tray  8  can now be 

accessed and removed for 

cleaning.

• 

Wipe the Cooking Plate  1  

with a soapy cloth, and dry 

with a soft cloth. DO NOT 

USE STEEL WOOL, SCOURING 

PADS OR ABRASIVE CLEANERS 

on Non Stick surfaces.

• 

Never submerge the Cooking 

Plate  1  or any other part of 

the griddle except the Drip 

Tray  8  which should be 
washed in hot soapy water.
