If the fittings are not sealing properly:

Please refer to the tool manufacturer’s recommended inspection and maintenance program in order to keep 

the tools in proper working condition.

•  M12™ ProPEX® Expansion Tool

•  M12 FUEL™ ProPEX® Expander

•  M18™ ProPEX® Expansion Tool 

•  M18 FUEL™ 2” ProPEX® Expander

1.  Is the fitting damaged or burred? If yes, replace the fitting.
2.  Is the pipe flush with the shoulder of the fitting? If not, cut out and replace.
3.  Is the tool expander cone bent or damaged? If yes, replace the expander head.
4.  Is the tool expander head segment bent or out of alignment? If yes, replace expander head.
5.  Is the tool expander head screwed on tightly? If not, tighten the head.
6.  Was the tool rotated 1/8” turn between expansion cycles (if it does not have the auto rotate feature)? 

If not, the connection should be cut off and restarted.

7.  Was installation done with a manual tool? If yes, make the connection with an approved power tool.
8.  Ensure that the pipe and ring/sleeve was not held in the expanded position too long and thus 

caused over expansion and slow the contraction onto the fitting.

9.  Ensure that the grease from the expander head is not on the inside of the pipe.
10. Ensure that the pipe and ring/sleeves are clean and dry.
