• Tool does not power on or 

remain on -

 Check battery 

polarity. Replace batteries. 

Ensure battery door is tight. 

Power the laser off and then 

on again.

• Laser light is dim -

 Ensure 

fresh batteries are being 

used. Ensure laser is within 

operating temperature range. 

Ensure battery door is secure. 

• Laser appears out of 

calibration - 

Contact Johnson 

for calibration service. The 

laser does not contain any 

user-serviceable parts. 

• Note:

 Do not disassemble; 

removal of the top safety label 

will void your warranty.

• Read all operating instructions 

prior to use. 

• For optimum performance, 

insert fresh batteries into the 

laser prior to use. 

• Power on the laser by pressing 

the green button on the 

battery door. 

• The laser beam is calibrated 

to a height of 1.75" above the 

tool. For convenience, this 

reference height is etched 

onto the tool’s housing. 

• The beam can be used as a 

reference to find potential 

obstructions in piping layouts, 

wall layouts, HVAC ducting, 

electrical conduit layouts or 

other similar applications.

• The vials can be used to set 

specific angles. The laser 

beam will follow the angle 

of the tool, and can be used 

to extend 30˚, 45˚ or 90˚ 

reference beams over long 

distances. 

• To power off, press the green 

power button.

• Store the tool in its pouch. For 

extended storage (>3 months), 

remove the batteries to 

prevent corrosion. Corrosion is 

not covered under warranty.
