IFC Networking—Metasys Intelligent Fire Network
The formats and uses for CBE and CCBE are similar in many ways with
the following exceptions:
•
only reverse activating software zones can be programmed with a
CCBE equation.
•
a CCBE equation in the programming of an IFC panel can only
reference software zones in other IFC panel nodes. For example, a
CCBE equation in Node 15 may be programmed to be activated when
software Zone 23 of an IFC panel at Node 10 is activated. The CCBE
equation might be “OR(N10Z23).”
•
CCBE can use only the AND(, OR(, and NOT( operands.
•
CCBE equations have a size limitation of 80 characters.
•
CCBE equations can reference only zones in other fire panels, not
individual points.
Each IFC-1010/2020 panel has 240 software zones. Each zone has a CBE,
but only Zones 2 through 240 may also have a CCBE, assuming that the
zone boundaries were set in System Programming at Zone 1. If the zone
boundary is set higher than Zone 1, there will be less than the maximum of
239 reverse zones (RZON), which can have both a CBE and a CCBE
equation.
Note: Forward activating software zones cannot have CCBE equation but
can be used as operands in other CCBE equations.
It is possible for a Reverse Zone to have both a CBE and CCBE equations
associated with it. If this occurs, the software zone will become active if
either equation becomes active. The format for a CCBE equation is as
follows:
Operator (----Operands----)
The operators for CCBE can only be AND(, OR(, and NOT(. The
operands for CCBE are either a zone with the format N(XXX)Z(YYY),
where XXX is the node number for the particular panel on the network
and YYY is one of the 240 software zones of the initiating IFC panel
available to CCBE programming in the receiving IFC panel, or an
enclosed (nested) equation with the format:
Operator (----Operands----)
CCBE programming can be accomplished by entering full point
programming or partial point programming on the particular
IFC-1010/02020 panel that the software zone is associated with.
