Step 1: 

Remove hinge bolts (J) and hinge 
flap (K) from bottom assembly (F).

 

Step 5: 

Insert handles (A) into 
their respective shafts 
(C & I) and slide 
seedling chute (G) 
into bottom assembly 
(F). Adjust handles 
(A) as desired for 
height and tighten 
strap bolt (B) and 
handle bolt (H) to 
complete assembly.

 

Step 2: 

Attach pivot 
shaft (I) to 
hinge flap (K) 
using two 
shaft bolts (E) 
as shown. 

Step 3: 

Attach strapped shaft (C) 
and depth control stop plate 
(D) to outside of bottom 
assembly (F) with two shaft 
bolts (E). Nuts should face 
out. 
 
Note: Depth control stop 
plate is adjusted for desired 
planting depth by sliding up 
& down along the bottom 
shaft bolt.

 

Step 4: 

Re-attach hinge 
flap (K) to bottom 
assembly (F) using 
the hinge bolts (J) 
removed in step 
one. Do not tighten 
completely. Pivot 
shaft (I) and hinge 
flap should move 
smoothly on hinge 
bolts.

Operation: 

-  Hold handles apart. 

-  Plunge to the depth stop. 

-  Push handles together. 

-  Drop transplant into the chute. 

-  Lift the tool straight up. 

-  Firm soil around the transplant with a foot.  

-  One person operates the tool, another handles the transplants. 

-  Follow up with some water and you are done. 

 

Cautions: 

 -  Operator should wear steel toed shoes, especially if edges are sharpened for use through thicker  

    mulch covers. 

 -  Tools should be kept away from children. Sharp edges and pinch points. Please be careful.
