Care and cleaning

Note

: Switch off and unplug the cooker hood before carrying out any

cleaning or maintenance work.

Clean the interior and exterior casing using a cloth with water and mild

(neutral) detergent.

Do not use abrasive cleaning materials or scouring pads when cleaning the

cooker hood as this may damage the stainless steel finish.

Cleaning and replacing baffle filters

This cooker hood is supplied with baffle filters.

Baffle filters are designed to absorb grease and dust during cooking. They

should be removed and cleaned once every two months, or more often if

you regularly fry food.

If all the indicators (see page 6) light up when the cooker hood is switched

off, this indicates that the baffle filters require cleaning. Once the filters have

been cleaned, with the cooker hood switched off hold down the 10 Minute

Timer button until the indicator lights go out.

To clean the baffle filter:

1.

Remove the baffle filter (A) by turning the handle towards the rear of

the cooker hood and pulling the filter downwards.

2.

Wash the filter in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher.

3.

Replace the baffle filter in the cooker hood by pushing the filter into the

cooker hood and turning the handle forwards until it locks in position.

The filters may discolour after a few washes. This is normal and does not

mean that they have to be replaced.

Cleaning and replacing charcoal filters
Note

: This cooker hood is not supplied with charcoal filters. Charcoal filters

can be obtained from www.johnlewis.com. The model numbers are:

– for JLCHI5201, model number JLCHF01

– for JLCHI8501, model number JLCHF02

Charcoal filters are designed to absorb grease, dust and unwanted odours

during cooking. They are only required when the cooker hood is used for

recirculating (i.e. when it is not ducted out).

If all the indicators (see page 6) light up when the cooker hood is switched

off, this indicates that the charcoal filters require cleaning. Once the filters

have been replaced, with the cooker hood switched off hold down the 10

Minute Timer button until the indicator lights go out.

Non-regenerable charcoal filters must be replaced at least every six months.

To replace the charcoal filters:

1.

Remove the baffle filter (A) by turning the handle towards the rear of

the cooker hood and pulling the filter downwards.

2.

Pull the tab (B) to release the charcoal filter and remove it.

3.

Insert the new charcoal filter and push it firmly into position.
