Step 3 

Gently pull the remaining slack cable through from the underside of the base. Gently tighten the 
screw in cable grip (E). This prevents damage to the internal electrical parts in the event the cable 

is strained.

Step 4

Remove the shade ring from the lampholder, 
place the shade over the lampholder and 
refit the shade ring.  Tighten to secure the 
shade in place.

Step 5 

Fit the bulb per the instructions overleaf. Do 
not exceed the wattage as recommended as 
this may cause damage to the light fitting. 

Step 6

Your standard lamp is now ready to use.  
Switch on using the floor switch. (F)

Assembly

Refer to assembly drawing opposite.  Carefully unpack the carton, making sure all the parts are 
present before assembly.  Your standard lamp has been packaged as five separate parts to prevent 
damage during transit.

We recommend cleaning with a soft dry cloth. Do not use abrasive materials as these will damage 
the finish.

Please read these instructions carefully before commencing any work.
Install in accordance with the IEE Wiring regulations and the Building Regulations.
To prevent electric shock switch off at mains supply before installing or maintaining this fitting. 
Ensure other persons cannot restore the electrical supply without your knowledge.
If you are in any doubt, please consult a qualified electrician.
This light fitting should be connected to a 5 amp fused circuit.
For your safety, always switch off the supply before cleaning or removing the shade. 

The lit bulb must be kept 50cm away from any surface, as shown by this symbol:

Step 1 

Holding the tube (A) firmly, screw on tube (B). Take care not to trap the cable or cross the thread.  
Then screw on tube (C) followed by tube (D). Check all joints are tight.

Step 2 

Pull any excess cable through from the underside of the base. It may be necessary to loosen 
screw in part (E). Turn completed assembly anticlockwise approximately 6 times (Turning the tube 
anticlockwise first, ensures that the cable will straighten when tubes are fully assembled). Screw 
assembly in a clockwise direction on to the base. Take care not to trap the cable or cross the 
thread, firmly tighten the tube by hand.
