Hints 

This unit features an AUTO SEARCH function that will automatically save the first 20 AM and 

20 FM strong stations found. To use this feature, make sure the unit is in Radio mode, and 

select the FM or AM band. Press and hold the SET BUTTON (#15). The unit will scan from 

the lowest frequency to the highest frequency within the selected frequency band. The first 

strong radio stations found will be stored in the preset locations starting from 1. 

 

Recall Preset Station 

Tap the ON/OFF BUTTON (#10) to turn on the JCR-315 and select AM/FM Mode. Tap the M + 

(MEMORY UP BUTTON) (#7) or the M - (MEMORY DOWN BUTTON) (#6) to select the 

preset station. 

 

TIPS FOR BEST RADIO RECEPTION

 

AM - The AM antenna is built inside the radio. If AM reception is weak, change the position of 

the unit until the internal antenna picks up the strongest signal 

FM – To obtain the best FM reception, fully extend the TELESCOPIC  FM ANTENNA (#9). 

Avoid close to the speakers or other electrical appliance. 

 

SLEEP OPERATION 

 

This function allows you to program the system to turn itself OFF after a set period of time. 

You can set your sleep time while in Power On (Radio or AUX) mode: 

1.  To activate the sleep function, press the SLEEP/SNOOZE/DIMMER BUTTON (#13) 

repeatedly on the unit, the LCD DISPLAY (#8) will show “90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 

OFF in sequence. 

2.  When the LCD DISPLAY (#8) shows your desired sleep time, release the button, the 

sleep timer is now activated, the SLEEP Indicator will Turn On. The LCD DISPLAY (#8) 

show “10” is to indicate “10 minutes” sleep time and so on. When the sleep time counts to 

zero, the unit will go off. 

 

AUX IN OPERATION 

 

The JCR-315 provides an auxiliary audio signal input jack for connecting external audio 

devices like MP3 players, CD players and iPods (except iPod shuffle 3rd generation) and 

listen to your external source through the speaker of this system. 

1.  You need an audio cable (not included) with one 3.5 mm stereo plug on each end of the 

cable. 

2.  Plug one end of the cable into the AUX IN jack (#18) located on the right hand side of the 

unit  and  the  other  end  of  the  cable  into  the  Line-out  Jack  or  Headphone  Jack  of  your 

external audio device. 

3.  Turn on the external audio device. 

4.  Turn on JCR-315 and it will switch to AUX mode automatically. 

5.  The volume level can now be controlled through the volume control of your radio. Operate 

all other functions on the auxiliary device as usual. 

 

Notes: 

(1)  If you connected the Line-out Jack of your external device then you only need to adjust 

the volume control of this system. If you connected the Headphone Jack of your external 

device then you may need to adjust both the volume control of your external device and 

the volume control of this system to find the most desirable volume setting. 

(2)  Remove the audio cable from AUX IN JACK (#18) when you finish listening. Don't forget 

to switch off the power on your external device as well.
