General Information
General information
If older hedges need to be cut back a substantial amount, use pruning shears to trim thicker
branches to the desired length before going to work with the hedge trimmer. Ensure that the
blade does not come into contact with anything that could damage it, such as fencing wire or
metal plant supports.
Native hard woods should not be cut with a hedge trimmer, as they will damage the blade.
The hedge trimmer is designed to cut soft new growth and should only be used to cut such
materials.
