IP pool testing
IP pool Test works only on the Ethernet interface, and verifies that a connec-
tion is provisioned to assign multiple IP Addresses to one device such as a
multimedia gateway/router/IAD. Run this test only when your network supports
multiple IP address assignments to one computer or device. This test will
request IP address assignments from the network up to the pool size set under
the IP pool configuration.
This procedure involves two main steps:
– configure the IP pool size
– run the test
To run an IP pool test
1 Specify the settings on the IP POOL SETUP menu.

“Specifying IP pool settings” on page 41 .
2 View the test results.

Port testing
The port test works only on the Ethernet interface and tries to connect and
open a specific, configured IP address and port number, to verify the selected
port is active. For example, it may be necessary to verify a specific IP address
and port number is active in order to process credit card transactions over the
network.
This procedure involves two main steps:
– configure the ports (port numbers) you wish to scan
– run the test
