12.6 - USING A SINGLE VTX A8 SB
The Suspension Bar can also be used as the main suspension frame. When the VTX A8 SB is used as a frame, the advantages are that
the attachment is simpler, lighter and more cost effective than using a VTX A8 AF. The disadvantage of this configuration—and the main
reason that this is not a recommended configuration for regular use—is that the center of gravity (CoG) of the given array must perfectly
line up with the shackle attachment position on the Suspension Bar. If the CoG is in front of or behind the suspension bar, the aiming of
the array will be incorrect. LAC-3 is used to determine if a given array can qualify for this configuration.
This configuration also supports side-by-side attachment for suspension hoists on the SB used as a top frame.
