Placing the JBL AquaCristal UV-C Water Clarifier in the intended spot
Now you can bring the UV-C Water Clarifier to the intended spot. Make sure the base surface
is stable and firm in a horizontal position. The UV-C Water Clarifier should be secured in the
drilled holes in the pedestals with the enclosed screws.
Caution: The ventilation required for the intended use and trouble-free operation of the
device is only ensured if the device is positioned horizontally with the pedestals facing
downward, and if the inlet and outlet are attached as indicated by the distribution arrows.
Non-compliant installations are not permitted and will render the warranty void.
Attaching the hose and putting into operation
Push the hoses onto the stepped hose nozzles and secure them with the matching hose
clips. Start the pump and check the appliance to make sure there is no leakage. Cut and lay
the hoses so they are as short as possible in order to avoid unnecessary bends.
Now the JBL AquaCristal UV-C Water Clarifier can be connected to the power supply. Green-
bluish radiation should be recognisable through the inspection windows for checking fluo-
rescent bulb function (15) on either side if the appliance is functioning properly. If not, please
check to make sure that the bulbs are secure in the fittings.
Adjust the turbo bypass switch
The turbo switch (17) should generally be set to Position A for pumping rates up to 8,000 l/h.
In this position, the entire transported water flows past the UV-C fluorescent bulbs.
For pumping rates of over 8,000 l/h, set the turbo switch so that there is no recognisable
reduction of the total pumping rate when the JBL AquaCristal UV-C water purifier is in op-
eration.
Position B should generally be selected for pumping rates of more than 20,000 l/h. The closer
the setting of the turbo switch is to Position B, the more water will be diverted via the inte-
grated bypass.
The inspection window with the impeller (18) serves to check the speed of flow in the cham-
bers containing the fluorescent bulbs. The faster the impeller turns, the more water flows
past the two UV-C bulbs.
Build-up of dirt or algae can hinder or block the proper functioning of the impeller. Check the
functioning of the impeller regularly and, if required, clean it as described in Section 8).
