SECTION 5
PLUMBING SYSTEMS
Hooking up to city water
Use this setting if you are at a campground or
other facility where the RV can be hooked up
to an external water source (and not the fresh
water tank).
1. If needed, sanitize the water system prior
to travel or camping.
2. Move the “water heater bypass valves” to
the NORMAL position.
3. Close the “fresh water tank bypass valves”
(located in the universal docking center).
Fig. 5.4 Fresh water tank bypass valve (in the closed
position)
4. Close the “winterization valve” (located in
the universal docking center).
Fig. 5.5 Winterization valve (in the closed position)
5. Remove the city water fill inlet cap and
attach a non-toxic drinking water hose to
the city water fill inlet.
6. Turn ON the water at the external water
source.
7. Enter the RV and open the cold water
supply faucets to bleed air from the water
lines. When the water lines are nearly full,
you may experience some "air pockets."
Allow them to escape before closing the
cold water supply faucets.
8. The water heater will fill first, followed by
the supply lines and faucets.
9. Turn the appropriate (12-volt or 120-volt)
water heater control switch ON.
To disconnect
1. Shut OFF the water at the external water
source.
2. Disconnect the non-toxic drinking water
hose and reinstall the city water fill inlet
cap.
The city water fill should be disconnected
when the RV is unattended for any amount of
time. If something should happen to the water
system, this may help limit potential water
damage to a smaller area.

URIFICATION

YSTEM
The water purification filter cartridge is located
in the kitchen area. It filters the cold line to the
kitchen sink and refrigerator icemaker. If the
water supply has not been used for some
time, allow the water to flow for several
minutes to flush the system.
Replacing the water filter cartridge
Shut off the
“water filter
cold water
inlet” valve,
remove and
replace the
water filter
cartridge
when water
flow from the
kitchen faucet is too slow for convenience, or
at least once a year (refer to the water filter
manufacturer’s information).

When not in use, the
water filter cartridge
should be stored out of
freezing temperatures.
RV antifreeze will
damage the water filter
cartridge. Before
winterizing the RV
plumbing system, shut off
the “water filter cold
water inlet valve” and the “water filter bypass”
valve.
