MACHINE COMPONENTS
The main machine components for the A50 and A100 models are shown on the following pages.
Find the figure showing the model you will be operating and become familiar with the information
given.
10.1 A50 Self-Propelled Mixer Components

1. Mixer Drum
– Used to contain the feed
while it is cut and mixed by the vertical
auger.
2. Vertical Auger
– Used to mix the feed
within the mixer drum and to discharge the
feed through the unloading door.
3. Auger Knives
– Used to cut the feed
material as the auger rotates.
4. Speed/Direction Control Pedal
–
Depressing either side of the pedal will
cause the mixer to move forward or
reverse. The further down the pedal is
depressed, the faster the mixer will travel.
5. ‘Reverse’ Arrow Cutout
– Indicates which
side of the control pedal to press to travel
in reverse.
6. ‘Forward’ Arrow Cutout
– Indicates which
side of the control pedal to press to travel
12. Remote Engine Throttle Control
– To
increase engine speed, push throttle lever
upward. To decrease engine speed, push
throttle lever downward.
13. Steering Wheel/Spinner
– Rotate the
steering wheel clockwise or
counterclockwise to steer the mixer.
14. Electronic Scale Indicator
– Displays the
weight inside the drum.
15. Unloading Door
– Door can be opened to
allow feed to be discharged.
16. Door Open/Close Control
– Used to
control feed discharge rate.
17. Engine Fuel Tank/Cap
– Remove this cap
to add fuel.
