Introduction
We congratulate you on the acquisition of your Jaeger-LeCoultre watch, and
thank you for your confi dence.
We invite you to consult the operating instructions and hope your Jaeger-
LeCoultre timepiece brings you great enjoyment.
Accuracy
Mechanical manually-wound or automatic watches
The precision of watch models with mechanical movements is determined by
the balance. The latter oscillates at a rate of 21,600 or 28,800 vibrations per hour.
Despite all the care that the master-watchmakers of the Manufacture Jaeger-
LeCoultre have lavished on building and assembling your watch, its accuracy is
subject to the infl uence of gravity, magnetic fi elds, impacts, as well as ageing of
the oils. The precision of a watch is measured by its regularity of rate in various
positions.
Your individual temperament and your activities may result in slight irregularities.
If you were to observe a discrepancy in the running of your watch, we advise
you to entrust it to an authorised Jaeger-LeCoultre retailers who will perform
the necessary adjustments.
Water resistance
Your Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is water-resistant to 3 atm. The water resistance
of your watch is identifi able by a symbol
engraved on the back. This
means that your timepiece has been tested at an immersion pressure corre-
sponding to 30 metres, according to the number of atmospheres appearing next
to the above-mentioned symbol (1 atm = approx. 10 metres).
You may use your watch during short swims and when jumping in from the
edge of a swimming pool, but not from a diving board. Your watch must not
be used for scuba diving, nor for sports involving signifi cant risk of impact, such
as windsurfi ng or water-skiing. Also note that leather straps are not suited to
aquatic activities.
It is vital to have the water resistance of your watch checked by an authorised
Jaeger-LeCoultre retailer before any period during which it is liable to undergo
prolonged and/or regular immersions.
