FUEL ____________________________________________________________________
Diesel fuel is flammable. Use caution when you add fuel to the mower.
Only use an approved container. The spout
on the container must fit inside the fuel filler neck. Never use the containers that are not approved to keep or transfer
fuel.
Fill the fuel tank to 1 inch (2.5 cm) below the filler neck.
Use clean low or ultra low sulfur Diesel fuel to the recommended specification. The use of Diesel fuel additives is not
recommended. If fuel additives are used, the fuel additives must be approved for use in the engine type used in your
machine. Refer to the engine manual for additional information.
Check fuel hoses and clamps at service interval (see chart). Replace the fuel hoses and clamps at first indication of
wear or damage.
Store fuel according to your local, state or federal regulations.
Fuel System
Use Diesel to ASTM D975 (Ultra Low Sulfur)
To Replace the fuel filters
a
Stop the engine.

Open the air valve (A) at the top of the filter (B) to release system
pressure.

Remove fuel filter cartridge (B). Clean any fuel that spills.

Assemble new filter cartridge to the filter base. Tighten the cartridge with
your hand.

Loosen hose clamps (C). Loosen filter clamp (E)
and replace pre-filter (D).
f
Bleed air from the fuel system.
WARNING
Refuel the mower before you start the engine. Never remove the fuel cap or add fuel to the mower while the
engine is in operation or while the engine is hot.
Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke when you add fuel.
If fuel spills, do not try to start the engine until fuel vapors have dissipated. Do not allow sparks, open flame or
other ignition sources in the area until fuel vapors have dissipated.
Never keep fuel containers near an open flame or any device that can cause the ignition of fuel or fuel vapors.
Always tighten the fuel tank cap and container cap after you add fuel.
