CLIMBING HILLS

JackRabbit’s hill climbing performance is governed by the laws of Newtonian physics. In other

words, speed depends on rider weight, available power and slope. Available power is a function

of the battery’s state of charge. At 50%, the battery charge is 36 volts. When the SCS is pressed

in the CLIMB position the rear wheel produces 288 watts of power. This will propel a 120 lb. rider
up  a  15%  slope  at  6  mph,  or  a  240  lb.  rider  at  3  mph.  You  can  calculate  any  performance

scenario  at  www.bikecalculator.com.  If  the  slope  is  too  steep  for  a  given  rider’s  weight,  the

controller will automatically cut off current to avoid damage.

WHEN JACKRABBIT’S SPEED UP

HILL  FALLS  BELOW  3  MPH  IT  IS  TIME  TO  EITHER  GET  OFF  AND  WALK  OR  PUSH  WITH
YOUR  FEET

.  Please  visit  our  YouTube  channel  for  demonstrations  of  JackRabbit’s  amazing

human-powered modes of operation.

SADDLE

JackRabbit’s  saddle  and  s

eat  post  are  common  bicycle  components  and  therefore

interchangeable with other models. Together they offer several dimensions of adjustment. Saddle

height can be set from 26.5” to 33.5” above the ground.

Do not extend the seat post beyond

its  minimum  insertion  hash  marks

.  The  saddle  can  be  moved  about  4cm  forward  or  back

along its rails. Finally, the pitch of the saddle can be tilted up or down to suit your riding comfort.
Feel free to experiment

or even swap in your favorite bicycle saddle.

TIRES

JackRab

bit’s front tire is 100% maintenance free. The nitrogen

-infused macromolecular material

has ride characteristics comparable to traditional pneumatic tires, yet is lighter in weight and will
never  go  flat!  The  only  reason  we  chose  not  to  use  this  technology  in  the  rear  relates  to  the
potential for panic stops. If the rear wheel is locked up (skids) on an abrasive surface (pavement
or  concrete),  a  permanent  flat  spot  may  be  created.  Until  ABS  technology  trickles  down  to  the
bicycling industry, we decided this potentiality to be unacceptable. The rear tire thorn resistant. If
the rear tire should suffer a puncture, please refer to repair instructions on Page 8.

FOOTRESTS

The folding footrests are designed to support  only the weight of your legs while you are seated
on the saddle: 30 lbs. maximum each side.

They could break and cause injury if stood on!

USB PORT

JackRabbit is equipped with a 5-volt, 1-amp USB port for recharging personal devices. When the
main  battery is  fully  charged it  can recharge a  typical  smartphone  about  25 times.  Devices  can
be powered or recharged while operating your JackRabbit.

HOW TO FOLD YOUR JACKRABBIT FOR STORAGE/TRANSPORT

JackRabbit  shines  in  its  lightweight  and  ability  to  fit  in  small  spaces--the  back  seat  of  a  car,
behind a des

k, under a table, in a closet, etc. To fold the handlebars flip open the stem’s quick

release clamp lever. Pull the stem extension out about ½ “ (13 mm). Rotate the handlebars 90

degrees. Press down the quick release lever to hold the handlebars in this position. When folded

in this manner JackRabbit is only about 6” wide, 4’ long and 3’ tall.
