initialize. Cables are not
plugged into
computer or EC. Ensure all cables are inserted and fastened.
Recent hardware
changes to
computer such as
a network card. Remove recent additions to computer. Then,
correct hardware settings of new cards such
that they don’t conflict.

12.5 Calibration Problems

Calibration fits are
not acceptable. Sample is not aligned
properly. Re-align the sample.
Signal intensity is weak
on some channels due
to sample reflection
properties. Detector(s)
Overloaded. Use the standard SiO2 on Si
reference sample supplied with the
instrument for calibration. Close the
respective iris or choose a higher
density ND filter (if equipped).
Software installed
on a new computer,
and results are not
correct. Calibration files not
installed on the new
computer Copy cnf files from the previous
computer into the
C:\CompleteEASE\cnf directory of
the new computer
