How to Operate the El. Kitchen Scale
• The scale must be placed on a flat, stable, smooth and sheltered surface.
• Always place the scale on a sheltered area when in use as air movement and breathing will
affect its accuracy.
Warning: Always protect your appliance from high temperatures and/ or strong sunshine.
• Press the “ON-OFF-TARE” button once to activate the electronic kitchen scale.
• The LCD display will turn on. The indication “18888” and then the indication “0” will be shown.
• Τhe scale is ready for use. Place the object on the weighting platform and weight the object
will show on the LCD.
Weight Unit Conversion
• Your electronic kitchen scale has 2 weight unit selections: grammars (g) and Libras (lb).
You can adjust the weight unit as follows:
• Press the “ON-OFF-TARE” button once to activate the appliance.
• The “0” indication will be shown on the LCD display.
• Press the “UNIT” button to select the appropriate weight unit.
• Your electronic kitchen scale is now ready to weight ingredients according to the unit you
have selected.
Reset/Tare Function
• The “Tare” function has been designed for weighting ingredients that require being placed
into a container for weighting e.g. ingredients in the form of powder such as flour, sugar etc.
• Follow the steps as described above in the paragraph “How to operate the Kitchen Scale”.
• Place a bowl on the surface of the scale. The weight of the bowl will be indicated on the LCD
• Press once the “ON-OFF-UNIT” button. The “0” marking will be shown on the LCD indicating
that the scale has been reset to “0”.
• Place the ingredient you wish to weigh in the bowl and the net weight will be indicated on the
LCD.
• To weigh another ingredient in the same bowl, press the “ON-OFF-TARE” button once more.
The scale is reset to “0”. Then you may add another ingredient in the bowl. The kitchen scale
will then indicate the net weight of the second ingredient.
ATTENTION: Always place the objects on the scale’s platform gently.
ATTENTION: Always wait until the weight indication is stabilized on the LCD display. The sta-
ble weight indication is the one you should take under consideration.
ATTENTION: Never place on the electronic kitchen scale objects exceeding 5 kgs for
weighting, since this will permanently damage the scale’s sensor.
ATTENTION: In case of overloading the electronic kitchen scale (with weight over 5 kilos / 11
Lbs), the indication “Err” will be displayed on the LCD.
