Quick start guide

IZIP E3 Vibe

IMPORTANT:

 The IZIP owner’s manual included

with your bike contains most of the important safety
and usage information about this bike, which is not
included in this quick start guide. Be sure to read the
IZIP owner’s manual before operating or working on
the bike for the fi rst time.

1. Charging the battery

You should charge your bike’s battery fully before you

ride the bike for the fi rst time. An empty battery will take
about 4–6 hours to fully charge.

1. Plug the charger into the battery’s charging port (

1

).

2. Plug the charger into a wall outlet.

The charger will begin to charge the battery. The light

on the charger indicates charging status:

Blue light:

The charger is powered on and standing

by, but is not charging a battery.

Red light:

The charger is charging the battery.

Green light:

 Charging is complete.

The E3 Vibe’s lithium-ion battery does not have a “memory”. This means it

can be charged at any time, and charged partially, without causing damage or
affecting performance.

The “Battery Care” section of your owner’s manual contains information on

how to properly care for your battery. A battery that is not properly cared for will
quickly degrade .

2. Getting ready to ride

Connect the battery

Remove the protective rubber cap from the battery terminal (

2

) on one side

of the rack. Slide the battery into the rack, as shown . The battery decal should
face outward.

Push the battery down, then lock the battery in place with the key (

3

). Do not

ride with the battery unlocked.

The battery can be connected to either side of the rack. If you have two bat-

teries, both can be mounted at once to double your range.

Turn on the bicycle

First, set the battery selector switch (

4

). The battery selector switch is on the rear of the rack, labeled ON/ON. Flip the

switch toward the installed battery (left or right). If you have two batteries installed, you can change between them at any
time using this switch.

After you have selected the battery, press the ON/OFF button (

5

) on the throttle. The battery gauge lights (

6

) will illumi-

nate, and the bike is ready to ride.
