Optional Features
2.9.1
RTC Controller with Coin cell
i.MX6 Pico ITX – SBC optionally supports on-board RTC Controller. It has feature of automatic switch
over to back up supply from main supply. Its supplied with external crystal oscillator frequency of
32.768Khz. It uses I2C1 lines to interface with the i.MX6 CPU. Also it supports on-board 3V backup Coin
cell battery for RTC. This coin cell battery is located at the top of the board and RTC Controller is located
at the bottom of the board. This is the optional feature and not populated by default.
The below table provides the RTC Controller & Coin cell BOM which can be used to mount the RTC
Controller component in i.MX6 Pico ITX SBC and use it.

SATA Connector
i.MX6 Quad/Dual CPU has one SATA II interface with up to 3.0 Gbps. This can be used to interface with
different Hard disk drives. Also this can be used as optional boot source if required. SATA signals from
i.MX6 CPU is connected to standard 7pin SATA connector.7pin SATA connector is physically located on
top of the board. This is the optional feature and not populated by default.
Note: SATA is not supported in i.MX6 Dual-Lite & Solo CPU.
