7 Additional Functions
The following functions have to be programmed with the software
T-UP10. More information about the possible settings of these
functions can be found in the software manual.
7.1 VOX
With activated Vox function, voice-controlled transmission, without
PTT key operation, is possible.
There are various settings for this function, e.g. sensitivity, hold
time after end of signal, etc.
7.2 Wire Clone Mode
Data transfer from radio to radio via optional cable.
1. Turn both PT-7200 off.
2. Connect both radios via data transfer cable.
3. Set both radios to the same channel.
4. Turn the receiving radio on - the radio onto which the data should
be transferred.
5. At the transmitting radio, the one which data should be copied, hold
the two programmable dual key (above and below the PTT key)
while the radio is turned on.
The LED lights shortly orange and the command “clone” is
announced if the voice annunciation is activated.
6. At the transmitting radio, press the PTT key to start data transfer.
The LED starts to blink red.
At the receiving radio, the LED lights green.
After completion of the data transfer, a confirmation tone is
emmited at the transmitting radio.
7.3 Time-Out-Timer (TOT)
To avoid excessive occupation of a channel, the TOT function can
be set up.
The maximum transmit time (between 15 and 1200 seconds in 5
seconds-steps) can be programmed via software. When the maxi-
mum value is reached, transmission is stopped automatically and
an alarm tone is audible (default setting) until the PTT key is
released.
A warning tone, which annouces the soon end of the TOT limit can
be programmed.
7.4 Power Save Type
The Power Save Function reduces the power consumption. The
radio switches automatically into Power Save Mode when no
signal is received and the radio is not operated.
The sleep times can be adjusted (short, middle, long).
7.5 Low Battery Level
A low battery warn function can be programmed. Once the power
level falls below a certain level, the LED blinks red and the radio
omits some alarm tones.
Now, it is time to charge the battery pack.
7.6 CTCSS / DCS
With the CTCSS and DCS coding system, unwanted signals can
be filtered out. It is possible to make only those signals audible,
which are encoded with the same CTCSS / DCS code.
Signals that are not encoded with the same code will be not be
audible, although they are present and can be heard with the
squelch of or monitor function.
There are 52 CTCSS and 198 DCS codes available.
Attention:
The use of CTCSS and DCS codes does not guarantee privacy.
