E Rope Installation

Attach to the anchor point and place rope (8 - 16mm / 5/16 - 5/8”) through the link boxes.

Anchor the Edge Roller Assembly.

F Use & Misuse

Use

Ensure the Edge Rollers are positioned accordingly before beginning any work. Beware, the
greater the distance between the Edge Rollers and the anchor point, the greater the potential for
lateral movement of the rope.
The Edge Rollers must be positioned so that the rope runs over the centre and does not lift out.
Ensure the Edge Roller is secure and stable before using the rope below it.
During use, it is essential to regularly check that the rope and Edge Rollers are still correctly
positioned.
The Edge Rollers are designed for use in a work positioning system, to protect a rope from contact
with an edge where it is not possible to achieve a free hang. Ideally the rope should be rigged to
avoid all contact with edges.
Edge Rollers may be used with rope conforming to EN 1891, of diameter 8 - 16mm (5/16 - 5/8”).

Misuse

Do not allow the rope to rub on the working edge. This may cause the rope to become damaged.
Ropes in contact with each other must not be allowed to move relative to each other or the Edge
Rollers. If necessary, use more than one Edge Roller.
It is not designed for use with wire cable. It should not be used if the anticipated load on the rope
exceeds 250kg (551lb).

G Inspection

Edge Rollers should be subject to:
- Pre-use checks
- Thorough inspections
- Interim inspections (as appropriate)
