3.   Wearing the pedometer properly

The PE-SOS2 has a motion detector that fundamentally

detects every movement, i.e. including your steps. As every

person moves slightly different, we recommend wearing the

PE-SOS2 as follows:

-   with the alarm pen pointing downwards

-   Fix securely to the belt of your trousers using the clip

-   Position on the belt: in the extension of the trouser fold,

around halfway between the hip bone and the middle of the

body.

It is not possible to carry or wear it in other ways, e.g. in a

handbag, coat pocket or on the body.

Depending on the movement intensity, you can set the

measurement sensitivity via a slide switch on the back of the

device. First set the high sensitivity (switch to the left in the

graphic shown below). If the PE-SOS 2 displays too many

steps, slide the switch to the right and carry out a test walk.

As a fundamental principle, you set your movement type

here:

-   Walking ---> to the left

-   Jogging ---> to the right (as displayed in the graphic)

Certain situations and walking styles can influence the

preciseness of the pedometer. These are, for example:

-   The pedometer swings along too loosely with your move-

ments thereby measuring “extra steps”

-   Dragging your feet will cause problems, as well as wearing

sandals or shoes with soft soles. An all too casual ambling

along also makes a correct count difficult.

-   You are on or in a vehicle that causes vibrations

(bicycle, automobile, train, bus, etc.).

-   You sit down or stand up or move in a fixed position.

-   Every movement can be interpreted as a step. This means that

pulling off the pedometer also counts steps. Therefore always

put it on first and then adjust the setting to 0.

-   Your movements will be counted. They are perhaps not
