The Arlec 4-in-1 250W Portable halogen worklight is suitable for indoor (ambient temperature

25˚C)   or temporary outdoor use. The worklight can be plugged into a standard power point and

has a weatherproof classification of IP44.

The 4 -IN - 1 HL254 worklight can be

assembled in 4 different configurations.

Base Stand

Fix the worklight support bracket onto H base

stand using a bolt, washer and threaded knob.

Ensure that the threaded knob is tight and

firmly holds the stand assembly together.
Side wing knob allows the tilt adjustment of

the worklight head.

NOTE:

 The safety adjustment stop prevents

the worklight head from tilting too far forward.

This helps to avoid accidental scorching or

burning. Do not remove support bracket

from worklight body.
When adjusting the worklight head tilt, tighten

the side wing knob with finger pressure only,

do not over tighten. While adjusting the

lamp head avoid pinching or bending of

the supply cord.

CONFIGURATIONS

In addition to the H base stand, HL254 can be

alternatively assembled with either a clamp,

stake or hook attachment.

Heavy Duty Clamp

The heavy duty clamp can be attached to the

support bracket either vertically or

horizontally depending on which screw

attachment point is used.  For both

configurations fix the worklight support

bracket on to clamp using a wing screw and a

washer. The black wing threaded knob used to

mount the H base stand is used for vertical

configuration where as for horizontal

configuration use the yellow threaded knob

mounted on the clamp body.

Heavy Duty Portable Worklight Stake

Attach the heavy duty stake to the worklight

support bracket using the threaded knob and a

washer.

Hang Hook

The hang hook can be attached to the main worklight body using the ‘front cover screw’ located

on the rear of the unit below the handle as shown.

WARNING:

When the worklight is operated outdoors the supply plug must be appropriately covered or

located such that it is subjected to indoor conditions only.

If the external flexible cable or cord of this worklight is damaged, contact the Arlec Customer

Service Team (Refer to details on back page) or a similar qualified person in order to avoid hazard.

The tungsten halogen tubes are supplied and packed separately to avoid damage. Ensure that

worklight is unplugged from wall socket. Open the worklight housing by loosening the front cover

screw located on the rear of the unit below the carry handle. The glass front of the housing will

hinge forward and down. Insert the tube in the holder, ensuring that you do not touch the glass

envelope of the tube with bare hands. Use the tube wrapper to handle the tube. (Oils from the

hands can cause the tube to fail or shatter).

If necessary the tube should be carefully cleaned with methylated spirit and dried before

installation. Do not attempt to adjust or force the tube holder with tools, but carefully push the

tube into the holder contacts. Reassemble the worklight housing.

Extreme care should be taken when handling and operating the halogen worklight HL254.

Please observe the following do’s and don’ts to ensure safe and trouble free use:

DO

ensure combustible material is kept away from worklight.

DO

use the handle to adjust the beam.

DO

keep the worklight out of reach of children when in use.

DO

switch off and allow to cool for a minimum of 10 minutes before storing.

DO

take extreme care in crowded or confined areas that worklight is not positioned where it can

be easily toppled over.

DO

use the worklight in horizontal position (+4°). If not used in horizontal position the tube life

will be greatly reduced.

DON’T

touch tube with bare hands. This could cause tube to shatter when worklight is switched on.

DON’T

stand worklight in pools of water.

DON’T

handle with wet hands or operate when standing on wet surface.

DON’T

position the worklight closer than one metre from surface to be illuminated.

DON’T

allow power cable to come in contact with front of worklight or housing.

DON’T

touch the housing or glass while hot.

DON’T

allow overhanging shrubs or foliage to come into contact with worklight.

DON’T

place or operate the worklight closer than 5 metres to a swimming pool or spa.

DON’T

operate the worklight with the front of housing opened.

DON’T

attach the heavy duty clamp onto poles or tubular material.
