Connect the DMX input signal cable to the "DMX IN" and use the four output sockets (DMX OUT 1 to 4) to split the
DMX signal. Use the "DMX OUT" to loop through the DMX signal without splitting it.
For installations with very long DMX cable paths or high electrical interference, such as in a discotheque, it is
recommended to use a DMX terminator. The DMX terminator is connected in an XLR connector as a 120 O
resistor between pins 2 and 3 which is plugged into the last output socket of the DMX line.
Connection to the mains.
After connecting all devices, connect the device to the mains via the mains plug. The device is then switched on.
To disconnect and after use, disconnect the mains plug to avoid unnecessary power consumption.
3.2 Construction of a DMX chain:
Each DMX device of a line weakens the signal somewhat. Therefore, the DMX standard limits the total number of
devices in a chain to 32. If you need to connect more devices or distribute the signal to two or more lines, then you
need a DMX splitter. Each chain must be terminated at the end by means of a 120 ohm termination resistor (also
called terminator) to prevent signal reflections. It is not allowed to use any microphone cable, only a shielded cable
with a 110 O impedance (also called a DMX cable).
