To score the PTG tuning exam, store the supertuning on the selected SUP page of the memory,
and store the examinee's tuning on page EXAMINEE.  After selecting the supertuning page or the
examinee page hold the SHIFT and press the STO MEM key to store the information to that page
in memory.

Store the lowest note of the examinee's temperament octave by stepping to that note and octave
and recording it in the computer by holding the SHIFT 2 and pressing the STO TMPT.  Then hold
SHIFT 2 and press SCORE to store all the calculated point scores on page POI.  Before writing
down the examinee’s point score be sure to verify the SUPertuning page number, which is listed
to the right of the cents deviation.  The note and octave display will automatically jump to the
starting note of the examinee's temperament octave, confirming that this note has been properly
stored, and display the point score for that note.  Now scan through the notes and find those
which have points scored against them, and write these down on the standard PTG scoring form.
Hold down the NOTE-UP or the NOTE-DOWN buttons and the Accu-Tuner will step along until it
finds a nonzero point score--then it stops allowing the examiner to write down the score for that
note.  Then step along to the next non-zero point score by pressing NOTE UP/DOWN.

A timesaving feature is page UnTune, the untuning page.  To prepare the piano for the next
examinee, go to this page and tune each note to stop the LEDs.  Notes settings are de-tuned by
an amount equal to four times the PTG tuning tolerance, alternatively flat and sharp.

Storing the SUPertuning must be done on one of the SUP pages.  The procedure is exactly the
same as storing a piano to regular piano memory with one very important simplification--it is
impossible to store a note using the wrong partial.  The PTG specifies which partial to use when
storing every note of a supertuning: fourth partial in the bass, second in the midrange and the
fundamental in the treble.  These partials are built into the program to make it impossible to store
a tuning on the wrong partial.

To store the supertuning select the appropriate SUP page in memory by holding the SHIFT 2
button and pressing the SUPER (PAGE) button.  Then use the PAGE button (release the SHIFT 2
button) to get to the equivalent of Page -3 (3 steps below page zero). Set the NOTE and OCTAVE
readings to indicate the note to be stored.  Then play the note and stop the rotation of the LEDs
with the CENTS buttons. (It isn't necessary to select the correct partial, as mentioned above.)
When the LEDs are stopped, hold down SHIFT and press STO-MEM (release STO-MEM first then
release the SHIFT button last) to store the setting.  Then the note will automatically advance one
semitone, waiting for the LEDs to be stopped and store the note.  Keep going until the whole
tuning is stored (C1 to B7).

S T O R I N G   T H E   E X AM I N E E ’ S   T U N I N G :

Storing the ExaminEE's tuning is done on page EXAMINEE.  The same as storing a super tuning
except select the EXAMINEE page of memory.  The PTG partials are automatically selected which
make it impossible to store a tuning on the wrong partials.

To store the examinee's tuning go to page EXAMINEE in piano memory, use the PAGE buttons to
go below page zero in memory, the first page below zero is EXAMINEE.  Set the NOTE and
OCTAVE readings to indicate the note to be stored.  Then strike the note on the piano and stop
the rotation of the LEDs with the CENTS buttons.  When the LEDs are stopped, hold SHIFT and
press STO-MEM to store the setting.  Then the note will automatically advance one semitone
ready to stop the LEDs and store the next note.  Follow the same procedure (stop the LEDs and
store the information) until the whole tuning is stored (C1 to B7).
