6.5 Lifting to and from a lying position
Follow this procedure when lifting a patient from a lying
position.
1. Traverse the ceiling hoist along the track towards the
patient to be lifted.
2. Position the suspension hooks above the patient to be
lifted.
3. Align the suspension hooks with the patient’s shoulders.
4. Position the patient in the sling. Refer to the sling user
manual.
5. Elevate the head of the bed, so that the user is sitting
up.
6. Attach the sling to the suspension hooks. Refer to 6.2
Attaching the Sling, page 20 .
