wise modify any electrical or
mechanical components. Modifications
may cause additional shock and burn
hazards.
Troubleshooting Overview
This manual provides all procedures and
instructions a facility maintenance technician
needs to splice ThermoDrive belt ends together.
Included here are troubleshooting tables with
information about possible problems and sug-
gestions for solving them.
Each problem appears in a gray box. Possible
causes and solutions are listed under the gray
box in order of likelihood. Use this information
with the procedures and instructions in the
manual text.
NOTE
There are no user-serviceable components in the
Splicing System. Attempts to cut, drill, or
otherwise modify any electrical or mechanical
components voids the warranty.
Procedures & Inspections
Multiple steps are required to complete a splice.
• System setup and inspection
• Belt end preparation
• Belt end alignment
• Splicing
• Trimming
Complete each task and inspect quality using
checklists in the manual before starting the next
task. Refer to the troubleshooting tables any-
time an inspection is failed. Contact Intralox
Technical Support with any questions.
Faulty Cuts & Splices
See the troubleshooting tables for detailed
causes and remedies for faulty cuts and splices,
but remember the requirements below.
Repeat Cuts
• Faulty prepared ends MUST be prepared
again so the faulty end is cut away.
• Do NOT attempt to repair cuts.
Repeat Splices
• Faulty splices MUST be removed from
the belt.
• Do NOT splice the same prepared ends
twice.
• Repeat the splicing procedure beginning
with NEW prepared ends.
