4 PREPARE BELT ENDS
4-2
Belt Splicing System v.2.0
Clean Belt Ends
1.
If used belt has not been severed into belt
ends, clean the belt area—top, bottom, and
edges—where the belt will be severed.
2.
If the belt is severed into two ends or the belt
is new, clean the top, bottom, and edges of the
belt ends for at least three (3) drive bars.
FABRICATION TIP
Use a food-safe detergent (without ammonia or
bleaches) and/or alcohol. Any cleaning agent
residue contaminates the splice.

3.
Wipe dry before aligning. Use a clean, lint-
free cloth or alcohol wipes.
Cut Belt Ends
Prepare each belt end to be spliced on the
Clamping Fixture with drive bars face up or
down using these instructions.
FABRICATION TIP
Complete all splicing procedures with drive
bars face down whenever possible. Completing
procedures on the returnway (drive bars face
down) often requires more setup time and an
additional operator.
1.
Choose the correct Cut Guide based on belt
drive bar pitch.
Red (8050):
50 mm drive bar pitch
Blue (8026):
26 mm drive bar pitch
2.
Pull the belt end across both Grooved Decks
until at least 1" (25 mm) of material is past the
second
Grooved Deck.
