6) Assuming you have a plain cable modem and a standard relatively modern router with UPnP service, you
should be able to do the following. First check if the UPNP service is available. In the camera’s menu, select the
“
Setting
” tab, then click on “
System
” and scroll down the screen to the line that says “
Internet URL:
”.
If the line says
no UPnP gateway
, then the
UPnP may be turned off or not available for
your Router. You will need to go into your
router settings (not covered in this user
guide) and set up this function by signing on
to your router and enabling the
”DMZ” or
“default server” in your router for the
camera’s IP address, then get the internet
URL from www.checkip.org . If your modem
has a router built in and you are using your
own router, also enable the DMZ in the
modem in your other router’s IP.
If you have a UPnP service active on your
router, then the Status should say Success.
At this point you should be able to access the camera remotely!
To test this out you can use your phone, make sure your Wi-Fi is turned off (so you are not on the same
network as your camera, open up your internet browser, and key in the external URL
http:////xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yyyy
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your external gateway, and yyyy is the UPnP external
port (in this case its 8150)
