Instructions
1. Verify all components included with the switcher are present before
installation.
2. Turn off power and disconnect the networking equipment by following
the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. If the switch will be sitting on a shelf, attach the supplied rubber feet to
the bottom of the product.
4. If the switch will be secured to a surface, attach the included mounting
brackets with the supplied screws. Secure the switch to the surface.
5.
Optional:
Secure a computer lock to the Kensington lock slot on the side of
the switch to prevent theft of the device.
6.
Optional:
Connect a wire from the switch to an earth ground to help
eliminate static shock between the switcher and connected network
devices.
7. Set the Operation Mode Selection Switch to either Default or Isolate mode.
When in Isolate mode, the green Isolate Active LED will be lit.
The switch must be powered off when altering the operation mode or the
changes will not activate even though the Isolate Active LED will change states.
8. Connect Category 5e or greater twisted pair cable with RJ45 connectors
between the switch and network devices. TIA/EIA-568B straight-through
wiring connections are highly recommended to limit potential interference.
9. Plug the power supply into the power input port of the switch. The red
Power LED will light when receiving power.
10. Power on attached network devices.
LED States
Uplink:
When an active network connection is detected, the green (left)
and amber (right) LEDs will light. The LEDs will flicker while
passing data.
Downlink:
When an active network connection is detected, the green
(right) LED will light. If an endpoint device requires Power over
Ethernet, the amber (left) LED will light. The green Link LEDs will
flicker while passing data.
