PXA27x Processor Developer’s Kit
- User’s Guide
2.2.15
USIM Connector
The Universal Subscriber Identity Module interface is a primary device and communications
interface for a GSM mobile handset. The USIM interface also supports communication with
SmartCards*, which are used in many applications including e-commerce.
Note:
With the PMIC card, only 3.3V USIM are compatible.
2.2.16
Camera Header
The camera capture interface acquires data and control signals from the CMOS sensor. An Agilent
ADCM-2650 is standard on the kit. However, a separate camera header (J43) can also be used for
other camera solutions. This camera header is interfaced with the Intel
®
PXA270 Processor.
Note:
The SSP, USIM, and PWM1 signals are multiplexed on top of the camera signals. Please refer to
memory mapped baseboard registers to ensure that the multiplexers are set appropriately.
2.2.17
Bluetooth* UART / Radio Header
The Intel
®
PXA270 Processor Bluetooth* UART appears on two main board connectors:
•
a radio header for interfacing with UART-based radio cards
•
a DB-9 connector for debugging use

2.2.18
Baseband Header
The baseband header runs at 3.15 volts nominally and interfaces with the Intel
®
MSL module in
the Intel
®
PXA270 Processor.
This header is enabled by the daughter card SW1.3. In the ON position the processor’s Intel
®
MSL
signals are routed to this Baseband Header.
2.2.19
Logic Analyzer Connectors
A set of Mictor-38 logic-analyzer connectors provide access to the major platform and processor
signals, including address and data buses, PCMCIA, serial-bus transmit and receive lines, reset,
AC’97, MMC, and LCD. For a complete listing, see the kit schematic diagrams.
The signals appearing on these connectors are buffered to minimize bus loading.
2.2.20
Silent Alert* Motor Control
A header provides for controlling an external Silent Alert* vibrator motor.
