ip_address
is the IP address you want to assign to the print server.
network_address
is the NetportExpress print server Network Address
printed on the test page or on the label on the bottom of the print server
device. Enter this address in two-digit pairs separated by colons, for
example: 00:90:27:1E:5D:B8.

Set the NetportExpress print server IP address by typing
ping ip_address
where
ip_address
is the IP address used in the ARP command above.
Configuring a workstation to print
The Proinstall utility on the NetportExpress Print Server CD configures UNIX
systems to print with LPR or the Intel Proprint utility. To set up systems
manually, see
UNIX manual setup
in the Online Guide index.
Install and run the software

Log in to a UNIX workstation as root.

Make sure the CD mounting directory exists. To check, type
ls -l /cdrom/npcdrom
If necessary, create the directory by typing
mkdir -p /cdrom/npcdrom

Insert the CD into the drive. If the CD does not automatically mount, follow
these instructions:

You may have to substitute the appropriate device file name of your system’s
CD-ROM drive for the italicized items in this table.

The final UNIX directory may be in uppercase.
