M.2 SSD Removal

1.
Power off the system and disconnect the power cable(s).

Remove the system top cover (see
Section 3.1.1

Remove the air duct (see
Section 3.2.1

If installed, remove the PCIe* riser card assembly from Riser Slot #1 (see
Section 3.3.1
).
5.
Locate the M.2 SSD port 0 (see
). Refer to
Section 5.4
for the location.
6.
Remove the screw to free up one end of the M.2 SSD (see Letter A).
7.
Carefully lift the free end of the M.2 SSD and gently remove it from the connector in the direction shown
(see Letter B).
8.
Repeat the steps 5
–
7 for M.2 port 1 if needed.
9.
Reinstall the PCIe* riser card assembly to Riser Slot #1 (see
Section 3.3.4
10.
Reinstall the air duct (see
Section 3.2.2
11.
Reinstall the system top cover (see
Section 3.1.2

Internal Fixed Mount SATA SSD Installation / Removal
Required Tools and Supplies
•
Anti-static wrist strap and conductive workbench pad (recommended)
•
Phillips* head screwdriver #1
The system supports up to two internal fixed SATA Solid State Devices (SSDs) that can be mounted on top of
the left power supply through a dedicated mounting bracket. The accessory kit iPC
–
CYPCBLINTSTKIT that
supports the internal fixed SATA SSDs includes the following:
•
Power cable for internal SATA SSDs
•
Mini SAS HD to 7-pin SATA connector cable
•
Internal SATA SSD bracket
SSDs need to be connected to the peripheral power connector and the SATA ports on the server board.

for information about the
mounting bracket option and available data cables.
