SQL : Squelch Level Setup (MENU 14)
In MENU mode, select the item 14 (N); the
SQL
indication (W) will appear on the LCD display (5). Press
MENU key (7) to confirm and press the UP/DOWN keys (6) to select the desired Squelch level from 0
(squelch opening) to 9 (lowest Squelch sensitivity). This function allows to silent the receiver by cutting
the background noise, when no signals are received.
If level
0
is selected, Squelch will be open and you will hear the background noise.
Press the MENU key (7) to confirm the operation then press the UP/DOWN keys (6) to select other
functions or press the FUN key (9) to return to standby status.
Note :
Press the MONITOR key (13) to temporarily open Squelch and listen to the background noise.
SAVE : Power Save (MENU 15)
This function reduces the battery consumption when no signal is received or when no operation is
performed (it means when no key is pressed). The user may enable or disable this function.
In MENU mode, select the item 15 (N); the
SAVE
indication (W) will appear on the LCD display (5).
Press MENU key (7) to confirm and press the UP/DOWN keys (6) to select ON (function enabled) or
OFF (function disabled).
Press the MENU key (7) to confirm the operation then press the UP/DOWN keys (6) to select other
functions or press the FUN key (9) to return to standby status.
MODE : Frequency / Channel / Channel-Frequency / Name (MENU 16)
In MENU mode, select the item 16 (N); the
MODE
indication (W) will appear on the LCD display (5).
Press MENU key (7) to confirm and press the UP/DOWN keys (6) to select the desired operation
modes CH, MR, FREQ and NAME.
CH
(Channel mode). The LCD display (5) will show the channel number on both the channel indications
lines "A" (W) and "B" (V) .
CHFREQ :
(Channel-Frequency Mode). The LCD Display (5) may simultaneously show a frequency
reading and a channel number.
FREQ :
(Frequency mode). The LCD display (5) will show the frequency reading on both
Channel/Frequency indications lines "A" (W) and "B" (V) .
NAME :
(Channel name mode). The selected channel indication "A"(W) or "B" (V) will show the Channel
Name if stored in memory. To edit Channel Name please refer to
CHNAME
function at page 17.
Press the MENU key (7) to confirm the operation and return to Stand-by mode or press the FUN key (9)
to return to standby status.
C : Receiving & Transmitting CTCSS / DCS Tones (MENU 17)
In MENU mode, select the item 17 (N); the
C-
indication (W) will appear on the LCD display (5). Press
MENU key (7) to confirm and press the * key (16) to switch between the CTCSS tone selection (C-
CTC) and DCS tone selection (C-DCS). Press the UP/DOWN keys (6) to select the desired CTCSS or
DCS tone number or select OFF to disable the function.
Press the MENU key (7) to confirm the operation then press the UP/DOWN keys (6) to select other
functions or press the FUN key (9) to return to standby status.
R : Receiving CTCSS / DCS Tones (MENU 18)
In MENU mode, select the item 18 (N); the
R-
indication (W) will appear on the LCD display (5).
Press MENU key (7) to confirm and press the * key (16) to switch between the CTCSS tone selection
(R-CTC) and DCS tone selection (R-DCS) in receiving mode.
